Patricia Ann McNair Gathers Views and Vantage Points

I was lucky enough to study under Patricia Ann McNair when I first came to Columbia College’s MFA program. It was in her class I wrote the first fully-told stories of Josh and Erik, two kids whose friendship (and rivalry) form the narrative core of what became Birch Hills at World’s End.  Her excellent collection, Temple of Air, will be out soon from Elephant Rock Press.

She was kind enough to include me in her View from the Keyboard series on her blog, where various authors discuss their creative spaces and processes.  Please have a look around there for some wonderful conversations about this, and other topics related to short story and novel writing.

  1. Thanks, Geoff. For the nod and for the submission. As always, great to share stories and ideas with you. Can’t wait for Birch Hills.
